House Mouse Challenge #219 You Are My Sunshine

Getting warmed up for the summer with the House Mouse Challenge You Are My Sunshine (and oh boy! the weather has been so nice the past couple of days). I used this cute stamp with a mouse chilling on a sunflower. For the background I used a white piece of cardstock and stamped some clouds on it. On top of that I made a large sun with the mouse in the center of the card. When it is hot and the sun is shining bright you'll need some refeshments. So I used my Lawn Fawn stamps to make two glasses of lemonade. On top of the glasses I placed a piece of mica to make it look like a real glass. In my large stamp collection I found a perfect sentiment to put on the card: 'Come, let us sit together and drink. Well it made me thirsty, cheers!

House Mouse Challenge #218 Favorite way to spend the day - Photography

One of the things I LOVE to do is taking pictures, capture the memories. Big smile for this entry for the House Mouse Challenge Favorite way to spend your day (Oops, to late to enter). Whenever I go somewhere (except for standard day's like going to work) I take my camera with me, it became a part of me. I can take lots of pictures in the zoo or when I'm on holiday. When I find some time I love to make scrapbooks with those pictures or use them for other creative things. For this card I created a little scene using 2 House Mouse stamps. The camera stamp is from a stamp set made especially for the Art Specially Stamping event which takes place once a year. I almost went for a sentiment like 'Say Cheese'. But then I came across my 'Big Smile' stamp, which fits perfect for this scene. Who else loves to take pictures and almost can't leave the house without a camera?

House Mouse Challenge #218 Favorite way to spend the day - Birthday Party

My mothers birthday is coming up (5 may) so I have to wait with posting this online until she received my card. With this card I want to enter the House Mouse Challenge Favourite way to spend the day. because who doesn't like a party. I am not a party animal (never been) but I always look forward to a bithday party (Yay, cake!). I can buy a gift, wrap it with a pretty bow and make a personal birthday card. Making cards make me happy and seeing the joy and appreciation you get when that person receives their present and card.

House Mouse Challenge #218 Favorite way to spend the day - enjoying nature

New House Mouse Challenge: Favorite way to spend the day what a great theme! There are so many things I love to spend my day with. I love nature, especially flowers. They come in so many colours and shapes, every season has it's beautiful flowers. I could spend a whole day watching (and smell) the flowers if it is a sunny day of course. As a child I grabbed my sketch book and went to a park to draw all the flowers that I saw (and made up my own names for them). So for this card I used a background flower stamp and used bright colours to make it feel like a warm sunny day. A perfect day to go out, get your camera and capture those beautiful moments of mother earth.

Make it Metal

Tijdens het afgelopen Creaweekend in de Broodfabriek (Rijswijk) heb ik een leuke workshop gevolgd met Pebeo Gilding Wax. Als je deze wax met je vinger over zwart karton wrijft kun je een metaal effect creëren. Dit komt alleen niet aanwaaien, het kost al gauw meer tijd dan je denkt. Gelukkig is het de moeite waard, want het resultaat is geweldig! Bij de workshop hebben we karton gebruikt die eerst was bewerkt met een embossing mal. Het leek me leuk om het voor thuis anders te proberen. Ik heb gezocht naar snijmallen die goed passen bij een metalen look. Uiteindelijk kwam ik op de tandwielen van Joy! & de robotmal & tandwielen van Marianne Design. Vooral met de robotten ging er veel tijd zitten in het uitsnijden en alles tot één geheel te puzzelen. Door de zwarte stansjes op zwart karton te plakken krijg je het idee dat het geheel met een embossing folder is gedaan. Voor je verder gaat met stap 2 (de wax aanbrengen) moet de lijm goed gedroogd zijn, anders veeg je de kleine onderdelen er gemakkelijk vanaf (zonde van je werk). De wax aanbrengen is geen haastklus. Ik heb zilver als basis gekozen, maar je kunt natuurlijk ook goud of koper als basis gebruiken. Doe met behulp van een spateltje een beetje wax op een kartonnetje (je hebt maar heel weinig nodig). Dep je vinger erin en wrijf over het karton zodat de wax goed verdeeld is over je vinger. Maak dan zonder enig druk uit te oefenen ronddraaiende bewegingen over je project. Pas als je het gevoel krijgt dat je vinger geen wax meer afgeeft ga je meer druk uitoefenen. Als er bijna niets meer aan je vinger zit kun je wat steviger tussen de randjes wrijven. Herhaal dit een paar keer met je basiskleur tot er 3 tot 4 lagen op zitten. Daarna kun je met de andere 2 kleuren wax nog wat accenten aanbrengen, nu lijkt het echt op metaal. Ideaal voor een mannenkaart.

House Mouse Challenge #217 In The Garden (Happy Day)

Made another card for the House Mouse in the Garden Chalenge. I took a flower stencil for the background. The spray I used is made from Brusho powder: Just put a smal amount of Brusho powder in a spray bottle and fill it up with water (shake before use). When you spray on a stencil, the stencil stays wet. I did not want to waste that so I pressed a piece of paper on top of it, now I have a negative print of the stencil. I stamped my immage on top of that piece of paper and used bright colours to colour my immage. Now you don't see the lines of the stencil print through the House Mouse immage anymore. For this House Mouse challenge (In The Garden) I made a birthday card for my friend. She adore these cute mice too. I used Stampin'Up! patern paper for my background. I created a garden with the Flowerng Fields stamp from Stampin'Up! This mouse is having lots of fun in the garden.
