Rockdoll Against Cancer

Het lijkt wel of ik de laatste tijd niets anders hoor dan beroemdheden die overlijden aan kanker. Eerst Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead), een paar dagen geleden David Bowie (Labirinth, Goblin King) en vandaag ook nog het nieuws van Alan Rickman (Harry Potter, Professor Sneep). Dit tragische nieuws past wel goed bij deze nieuwe blogpost. 

Vorig jaar was er een veiling met Rockdolls Against Cancer, toen heb ik mijn favoriete pop 'gewonnen'. Niet zomaar één, maar mijn fovoriete zangeres (Simone Simons) van mijn lievelingsband (EPICA). De opbrengst hiervan gaat naar de kankerstichting, een goed doel dus en ik heb er een collectors item bij. Nu vragen sommigen van jullie misschien af wat er zo bijzonder is aan deze poppen. Voor het gemak heb ik als uitleg de omschrijving van de pop (bron) gebruikt:

 original stage outfit by Dutch designer Ingeborg Steenhorst.

About the custom Dolls:
The dolls are 100% replica's of the rock singer dressed in their custom designed stage outfits by Ingeborg Steenhorst. Special detail to mention is the fact that each doll outfit is made from the fabric that is also used for the original stage outfits. Every detail of the outfit, jewelry, makeup and hair styling of the singers, is hand crafted with passion and dedication by the artisans; Lorena Neri and Adriana Savioli. They equipped the dolls even with a completely professional hair color dye and hair styling. Each custom doll concerns a one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity, standard and handmade cardboard storage box signed by the singers themselves.

Once a year I Style Stars/Studio Ingeborg Steenhorst organizes an international auction on Ebay to make these unique dolls available for the fans by putting them up for auction in order to raise money for the fight against cancer. The profits from the auction will, after deduction of makers- and auction fee, go to the Dutch KWF Cancer Foundation"

 Dit jaar was er weer zo'n veiling, er werden maar liefst 3 poppen geveild van mijn andere favoriete zangeres (Floor Jansen) die fantastische muziek heeft gemaakt met ex-After Forever, ReVamp en Nightwish. Ik had mijn zinnen gezet op mijn favoriet (Floor doll in Nightwish outfit) en tot mijn vreugd heb ik ook deze veiling gewonnen! Weer een collectors item erbij en een forse bijdrage aan het goede doel. Mijn dream team staat nu te schitteren in mijn vitrine kast.
